Dusit International is looking to expand its MICE operations, the Bangkok Post has reported. The Thailand-based hotel group believes that the Thai MICE market is a more attractive, cost-effective option that rivals in Singapore or Hong Kong, and the group’s Global Director of Sales, Simon Burgess has said that Dusit are in an ideal position to capitalise. “Thailand is value for money. It’s a real destination for MICE,” Burgess said, adding that he expects MICE to contribute up to 50% of Dusit’s revenue next year, up from its current level of 35%.
Early this year, Dusit set up a new global sales structure, including the provision of an online customer database exchange for its six global branches – Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, and Germany. The system will be in full operation this September.
