Bangkok - Dusit Thani Hua Hin, one of the most distinguished properties under Dusit International, has again been selected as the official host hotel for the 15th ASEAN Summit taking place from 23-25 October 2009. Prior to this occasion, the property has made massive preparations, including investment of THB 40 million on the hotel’s Food and Beverage (F&B) facility reformation, THB 160 million on its new Dusit Club Rooms and Dusit Club Lounge, and intensive employee trainings, to welcome the delegates.
As the host hotel of this event, Dusit Thani Hua Hin will welcome heads of the states from 10 ASEAN countries, and their associates - China, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and India. This particular property is prominently known for being Thailand’s best meeting venue; and with its experience and prestige, Dusit Thani Hua Hin has continuously been selected as the headquarters for numerous international events.
The highlight of this preparation is the significant 95-day kitchen reconstruction worth over THB 40 million, marking the most expensive and best equipped F&B facility in its region. From its highly purified water system, hygienically cleansed for drinking, to all new cutlery and kitchenware imported from France, Italy and Germany, this 820-squaremetre gastronomic space, certified by Thailand’s Ministry of Health, will make Dusit Thani Hua Hin the ideal venue for this event.
Following the launch of the new Dusit Club Rooms and Dusit Club Lounge this year, the rooms prepared for the delegates are tastefully furnished and reflect a style skillfully infused with classical Thai elegance with a view of the beachfront, lagoon and tropical garden from its private balcony. 53 Dusit Club Rooms and 25 Dusit Grand Rooms are all set overlooking the Gulf of Thailand with its gentle sea breezes, and the natural delights of sun, sea and sand. Over THB 160 million was invested to complete this vast renovation.
As a memento for the country leaders, the “Suphannahongse” Royal Barge with its famous mystical stylised swan figure-headed, will be given as a profound reminder of the continued friendship, unity, and respect. The barge is particularly chosen for this occasion, as it represents the love and loyalty that the Kingdom has for His Majesty the King, Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Mr. Victor Sukseree, General Manager of Dusit Thani Hua Hin said, “We are honoured that Dusit Thani Hua Hin has been selected once again by the Thai government to be the official host hotel for this prestigious event. This is due to the fact that we have one of the best meeting facilities in the area. The Royal Dusit Hall is an elegant and versatile conference centre with a grand ballroom able to host over 1,000 delegates for a reception. The facility has natural daylight and panoramic views overlooking the Gulf of Siam. Years of experience with Royal functions, top level government and corporate meetings plus award winning incentives, has earned the hotel a reputation as the perfect venue for events and meetings.”
“We have been preparing for several months to ensure we host a successful event and provide the most wonderful experience to the hundreds of delegates from across the world. We, Dusit Thani Hua Hin and Dusit International family, are proud to be a part of this coalition to help create a better opportunity for the development of ASEAN community. This will also promote Thailand as a great business and travel destination to restore the confidence from international travellers,” added Mr. Sukseree.
