Egencia acquires Australian TMC Travelforce

Egencia, a subsidiary of Expedia Inc, has completed its acquisition of Australasian travel management company Travelforce. In a statement, Egencia said that Travelforce will help it expand its Australia and New Zealand presence, with the addition of offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and Wellington, as well as expanding its portfolio in the meetings and incentives and high-end leisure travel marketing sectors. “After years as partners, we are proud and excited to welcome Travelforce as a close member of the Egencia family,” said Cecilia Routledge, managing director of Egencia Asia Pacific,. “Going forward, we will combine the power of Egencia and Travelforce into one strong brand, leveraging the talent and assets of each company”. The majority of the current Travelforce management team will join Egencia Australia in the new combined business called ‘Travelforce, an Egencia Company’. Egencia Worldwide will now focus on further geographic expansion and product innovation, with a particular focus on mobile technology in 2011. Financial details of the Travelforce transaction were not revealed.
