Three trains have collided in southern Thailand injuring eight people, The Nation newspaper has reported. Five passengers and three railway workers were hurt when a cargo train crashed into a stationary Hat-Yai-Bangkok passenger train at Phatthalung station, throwing a carriage into the path of a second passenger train, which was preparing to travel to the coastal province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
