Embraer to cut 20% of workforce

Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA, the world’s fourth-largest aircraft maker, will cut its workforce by about 20% and deliver fewer planes this year, according to a Bloomberg report. The dismissals represent more than 4,200 workers, while delivery forecasts have been cut from 270 to 242 according to the report. The planemaker now predicts 2009 revenue of US$5.5 billion, down from its previous outlook of US$6.3 billion.
