Emirates buys 60 new planes

Dubai-based carrier Emirates has celebrated the receipt of its first Airbus A380 superjumbo by signed a deal with the European aircraft manufacturer to buy a further 60 planes. Emirates’ Chairman and CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum (right in picture), signed the deal with Airbus CEO Tom Enders (left) for 30 Airbus A330-300s and 30 Airbus A350 XWBs during a ceremony at the Airbus factory in Hamburg.
Sheikh Ahmed said of the deal; “The A330-300s and A350 XWBs will enable Emirates to continue its growth using modern fuel-efficient aircraft. We remain ambitious and every bit as determined to achieve our long-term goals.”
