Emirates launches RWC 2011 competition

Emirates Airline, the Worldwide Partner of Rugby World Cup 2011, is offering young rugby fans the opportunity of a lifetime through its Rugby World Cup 2011 Flagbearer competition.The competition will see one lucky fan travel to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand to carry the flag for one of the participating teams, leading them out onto the field at the fourth quarter final in Auckland this October. Open to 14-16 year olds within the UAE, the winner of the competition will receive two return Business Class tickets with Emirates from Dubai to Auckland, three nights’ accommodation in Auckland and two tickets to the fourth quarter final, for themselves and their guardian.”Emirates is a Worldwide Partner of Rugby World Cup 2011 and this competition gives passionate rugby fans in the UAE the opportunity to be centre stage at one of the world’s largest sporting events,” said Khalid Bel Jaflah, Emirates VP UAE Sales. “This is a money can’t buy opportunity that will create lasting memories for the winner.”The competition is open for entries up until Thursday 22nd September and requires participants to answer the following question: What is the name of Emirates loyalty rewards programme for young flyers?Interested participants can enter through www.emirates.com/ae/flagbearer. The winner will be selected and notified by Emirates following the South Africa vs. Namibia match on Thursday 22nd September, with two weeks notice before they are required to travel. Rugby World Cup 2011 will commence on 9th September with the final match held on 23rd October.
