Emirates has revealed that it plans to hire more than 11,000 new staff in the coming year.
The growth, which will encompass Emirates Airline and ground handling company dnata, would increase the group’s total headcount by 6% by March 2016.
Approximately half of the new recruits will be Dubai-based cabin crew, who will be required to staff the 20 new aircraft Emirates expects to receive this year. Other areas of growth include flight operations, engineering, airport services and corporate functions.
“Both Emirates and dnata are exciting and industry-leading companies,” said Abdulaziz Al Ali, Emirates’ executive vice president of human resources.
“Our growth makes Emirates Group an attractive employer in the global arena for the best talent, and that’s why each month we receive thousands of applications from candidates across the world looking to join our dynamic team.”
Currently Emirates employs more than 75,000 staff around the world. In 2014, the company received nearly 483,944 online applications for just over 2,000 jobs.
