Etihad announced yesterday it will open a premium lounge in Manchester Airport’s Terminal 1. The lounge will open later this year and is the third Etihad lounge to open outside of the airline’s home based in Abu Dhabi. Users of the lounge will be able to take advantage of five-star dining facilities, workstations, a prayer room, family room with nannies, a relaxation area, bathrooms and showers. “Manchester has always been an important part of Etihad’s growth plans, and the ties between Manchester and Abu Dhabi have never been stronger,” said Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer Peter Baumgartner. “A premium lounge is a key enhancement for Etihad at Manchester Airport, particularly with the additional capacity provided by the Boeing 777-300 aircraft which will operate the service from June,” added Manchester Airport’s Managing Director Andrew Cornish. Etihad already has lounges in Abu Dhabi, London and Frankfurt and more will be rolled out across the airline’s network.
