Cardiff holds third Thirsty Thursday!
Representatives from Cosmos Holidays, Aer Lingus, Delta Air Lines and KLM were on hand to promote routes from the Welsh airport, with prizes given out including an iPad 3; flights to New York and a two-week holiday to Florida.
In an additional incentive, all agents at the event who register an Aer Lingus booking with Cardiff Airport this year will be entered into a draw to win tickets to the Wales vs Ireland game in February 2013.
Prizes were also handed out on the night. Lianne Tailby from Portman Traevel won the grand prize of a two-week holiday to Florida with Cosmos, complete with tickets to SeaWorld, Universal and Walt Disney World Resort. Trailfinders’ Cat Davies was the lucky winner of flights to New York courtesy of Aer Lingus, while Matt Harrison from Thomas Cook Cwmbran Southwalk was the lucky winner of an iPad 3 thanks to Delta/KLM!
Cardiff’s connections to the USA have been boosted by Cosmos this year, which has introduced new packages. Speaking to Travel Daily earlier this week, Gary Anslow, sales director at Cosmos & Monarch Travel Group said its first full programme from Cardiff had been popular with agents.
“Since the launch of the programme, feedback has been good from both travel agents and consumers as Florida continues to be one of the most popular long haul destinations. In the past, demand for Florida holidays in the Wales area has been huge so we are pleased with the pick-up so far,” he added. For the full interview click here.
