Exotissimo has announced a series of festival tour packages in Thailand and Myanmar.
The ‘Magical Myanmar’ tour consists of an 11-day adventure through the country, incorporating six Burmese celebrations into one itinerary. A coach tour that can tailor-made for FIT requests, participants will experience unique religious and cultural celebrations that include markets, food offerings, performances and boat rides.
Beginning in Yangon, the route continues on to the ancient temples of Bagan before reaching Mandalay where the Kuthodaw Pagoda Festival marks the first festival in this program, which runs between 7-17 October 2011.
Taking place from 6-14 June 2010, the nine-day Phi Tha Khon tour offers a chance to partake in a folk festival during a journey across Thailand’s northeastern provinces. Unique to Dan Sai district in Loei province, Phi Ta Khon is a colorful merit-making festival that reflects the Isaan belief in ghosts and spirits. The event is marked by locals taking to the streets dressed as ghosts with colourful masks and large hats.
Exo’s Group Product Manager, Louise Nathan, said; “Lending from the strong sense of culture and tradition practiced in the region; Exo festival packages embody all the values of a signature program. Featuring cultural immersion, sightseeing, great cuisine and local encounters our Phi Ta Khon and Magical Myanmar packages offer truly wonderful ways to experience Asia and its people.”
