Indian Travel Agents have jumped at opportunities offered by Expedia’s new Travel Agents Affiliate Program (TAAP) which was launched in August last year. With many top agents already signed up and using the system, the programme already boasts Affiliate numbers well above Expedia’s initial projections.
The Online Travel Agent has since launched a variety of new payment options for Travel Agents in support of the Expedia Travel Agents Affiliate Program (TAAP). Travel Agents can now choose from four payment options on the Expedia.co.in website. Options include “Internet Bank Transfer”, “Debit Card Payment”, “Cash Card Payment” and “Credit Card Payment”. All payment types attract the same commission for the booking which is 10% (for Expedia Special Rate Hotel bookings), or higher for volume producers. Commissions are paid automatically into the Agency Bank Account each month.
“This is a world first” claimed Stuart Udy Manager of Travel Agent Distribution APAC. “Up until now Expedia have only accepted Credit Card as form of payment through any of the Expedia websites worldwide. These payment options are only available to the Indian market right now which tells you how important this market is to Expedia. TAAP agents told us they wanted more flexibility in the way the payment was processed so we have developed these additional payment options to help support our agency partners.”
