Anna Barnes joined Funway Holidays recently to develop relationships with the travel trade. We caught up with her to see how her first two months with the tour operator have been.
You started at Funway a few months ago. What drew you to working with Funway and in this role?
I started working in the travel industry since 2002 and was working with TravelCube before I took on this new role. I wanted the opportunity to take on more responsibility and work for such a reputable supplier. USA, Mexico and the Caribbean are the destinations that I choose for my holidays, so it’s an ideal product for me.
What have you been up to in that time?
I have been on the road meeting as many agents as possible in my region of the Midlands and South East. I’ve already attended four Tipto roadshows in London, Lincoln, Peterborough and Drayton Manor. I have also just got back from a fam trip to Orlando and Florida and earlier this year I hosted a fam trip to New York.
Have you spotted any trends in the type of bookings that are made in your area?
It’s popular for people to choose Las Vegas and Mexico as a twin centre option. Sandals is also as popular as ever; together with New York city breaks.
What developments are you currently sharing with your travel agent partners?
We have an excellent online booking system at www.funway4agents.co.uk where agents can make multi-centre bookings, together with our Moneycard Incentive scheme which agents can take advantage of.
We have the capability to tailor-make such a broad range of holidays, all fully ATOL bonded, and bookable either online or via our experienced call centre.
It’s all about encouraging agents to give us a try and take advantage of our fantastic offers!
