What does Lost Earth Adventures specialise in?
Lost Earth Adventures specialises in providing unforgettable outdoor adventures. We offer authentic experiences providing once in a lifetime holidays and experiences in the UK and internationally.
What areas of adventure do you cover?
We raft the best rivers, seek out the finest mountain biking trails. We head deep underground to hidden wonders, and climb on some of the best rock available. Gorge walking through impressive limestone canyons, white water rafting and kayaking along vast stretches of rushing rivers. Our treks in the Himalaya take our clients far away from the crowds through stunning mountain scenery and lush verdant valleys. Our South East Asia tours provide adventures through forest, jungle, sweeping panoramas and wild rivers, to cultural wonders and hidden temples. We firmly believe that we provide the best adventure tours you can find anywhere.
How do you work with agents?
We work with many different agents through commission. We are very flexible in the way we work, and always open to new ideas to work with our current agents and new.
What makes your tours unique?
Adventure travel is our way of life, we love what we do! Lost Earth Adventures was founded on an undisputed passion for discovery, adventure and the desire to share our knowledge and experiences with others. As a smaller company we are able to remain customer focused and provide our clients with a far more personalised service than our larger competitors.
Who’s your typical client?
We provide for a wide range of people. Often our clients are looking to do something they have never experienced before. We have clients young and old, from the inexperienced to the advanced. In the UK we offer experiences in adventure activities for individuals and families, stag and hen parties, charity groups and corporate events. Our overseas clients also hail from many different backgrounds but all have the same common bond, searching for the same adventure.
What’s your background?
At Lost Earth Adventures we hold a deep love of travel and adventure, having explored many unique countries and landscapes. As a brief sample of our background; for myself, this included an expedition to climb unclimbed peaks, at the age of 17, in the Karakoram Mountains of Pakistan. My passion for mountaineering has also brought me all over North America, Australia Europe and Asia. I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing new cultures, coupled with the more adventurous and active side of travel this is what has driven me to continue to explore and travel. As I gained more experience, I put my efforts to becoming professionally qualified as an instructor and guide for climbing, mountain biking and trekking. I’m always striving to learn more and improve myself both professionally and personally.
Sarah Allard, my partner and the co-founder of Lost Earth Adventures, spent much of her youth in the untamed wilderness of Canada, honing her skills as a mountaineer, climber, skier and mountain biker. All our staff are trained and highly qualified outdoor professionals, combining many years of experience in challenging, remote regions.
Nepal is a destination you specialise in. How have things improved out there in the last year?
Nepal has improved greatly and all regions are back to normal. The misconception is that the majority of Nepal was badly damaged in the 2015 earthquakes, but this is simply not true. For the most part travellers won’t be able to recognise any damage and the Nepali’s have worked extremely hard to get back to normal. Now is definitely the time to go!
What are your goals for growing the business in the UK market?
We are expanding into the Lake District as this is an area we know intimately. Currently the areas we operate are the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales and Peak District but as there is so much in the Lake District we are keen to offer adventures there too. We will be adding itineraries to our website gradually throughout the year. This will complement our current selection very well as we get many repeat customers asking us for tours and activity days in different areas. We will also be making plans for providing trips in North Wales by 2018.
What’s next for Lost Earth Adventures?
To continually outdo ourselves and provide new, amazing experiences around the world!
We are continually looking to improve the experiences we provide to create the best trips possible for our clients. This is our main priority for Nepal and South East Asia tours before offering other destinations as we feel there is so much more to offer in the areas we operate. We would rather work hard to become the best at what we do rather than move into other areas. We will be continuing to add more itineraries in these destinations as we feel that we have barely scratched the surface of what we can offer. We know so many great places to take people but just need the time to put it into action!
