The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opted to unify taxicabs in service at Dubai airports, as reported in Gulf News.
The new service will be such that the entire fleet will consist of family size vans due to rising demand for this type of vehicles. The demand accounts for 75% of customer preference, compared to regular taxicabs.
The move comes under the overall endeavours to raise customer satisfaction rating and responding to customer needs and aspirations.
Mohammed Yousef Salih, director of fleet operations at the Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: “The idea to introduce van-only policy was due to their capacity to accommodate large number of passengers and baggage to meet the needs of families travelling from and to the UAE.”
