Finnair has revealed today that it will update its passenger offering in 2021 by installing its brand new Premium Economy product, across its fleet of aircraft.
The brand new seats will be placed in their own designated cabin customised ergonomics to enhance comfort and maximise space for customers. The rollout of Premium Economy class to Finnair’s long-haul fleet will begin in around two years, by the end Q4 in 2020.

The installation of the Premium Economy upgrade is expected to take approximately two years with a completion date slated for December 2022. Detailed planning of the cabin design, service concepts, as well as the commercial aspects are currently ongoing, and Finnair will communicate more details at a later stage.
“We see a growing trend of quality focused travellers, who place a strong focus on the comfort and quality of their travel experience,” said Stan Kwong, regional head of Hong Kong, Southern China, Taiwan, Philippines and Macau at Finnair. “Responding to customer needs from all our key markets, our new Premium Economy class will serve the requirements of both leisure and corporate customers.”
The introduction of Premium Economy class comes as Finnair undergoes a period of unprecedented growth, with a growing network that now includes non-stop services to 19 cities in Asia, eight in North America and over 100 destinations in Europe.
Furthermore, on top of this will also be carrying out cabin upgrades within the ATR fleet of its regional brand Norra. These aircraft, currently operating on Finnish domestic routes and services to the Baltics, Gdańsk in Poland and Stockholm, will gain new seats, carpets and cabin interior design.
The first ATR aircraft sporting the new cabin is expected to begin operations in summer 2019, with the full refurbishment of all 12 ATR aircraft expected to be completed by the end of Q1, 2020.
