Finnair sees drop in Asian load factors

Finnair has reported its traffic results for March 2011, with load factors on its routes to and from Asia slumping 12.2 percentage points year-on-year. The carrier saw its Asian traffic increase 2.5% last month, compared to March 2010, but this failed it keep pace with a 19.2% increase in capacity. This caused Finnair’s Asian load factor for the month to slip from 86.7% to 74.5%. For the first three months of the year, the carrier’s Asian flights saw a 5.0% rise in traffic, with load factors averaging 74.1%.
