Malaysian low-cost carrier, Firefly will reintroduce its Subang-Kuantan route with twice daily services from 30 October 2011. The service was suspended on 2 September 2009 due to lack of aircraft, but Firefly’s Managing Director, Eddy Leong has said that recent aircraft deliveries mean the airline is now able to relaunch the route.
“We are now in a position to respond to the many requests for this route as we will be taking delivery of two new ATR72-500 aircraft next month. Both aircraft will be stationed in Subang. We anticipate the Subang-Kuantan route will be a popular one and we are confident of capturing traffic from business travellers as well as the visit friends and relatives segments,” said Leong.
The services will depart Subang at 0740 and 1750 each daily, returning from Kuantan, on the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia, at 0850 and 1900. Flights take approximately 50 minutes.
