Malaysian low-cost carrier, Firefly, is planning to launch services to ASEAN countries in the third quarter of 2012, Bernama reported the airline’s Managing Director, Eddy Leong, as saying. Although no destinations were specified, Leong said that ASEAN would be Firefly’s “main focus” and that it was negotiating slot approvals. The airline will receive its first jet aircraft, new Boeing 737-800s, this year as it launches operations from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
