InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with Taisei Kanko Australia Pty Limited to bring the first Holiday Inn to Cairns.
Holiday Inn Cairns Harbourside, currently operating as the Mercure Carins Harbourside, will undergo refurbishment before opening as a Holiday Inn later this year, bringing the count of Holiday Inn hotels in the country to 11.

Located in the northern end of The Esplanade in Cairns which provides key access to the Great Barrier Reef, Holiday Inn Cairns Harbourside will appeal to holiday makers looking to experience the World Heritage Site.
