The offer for 5,000 seats, which go on sale today, will be available to subscribers of Jetstar’s newsletter Jetmail.
For five cents, passengers can fly from Melbourne to Hobart, Launceston or Newcastle, Sydney to the Gold Coast, or Brisbane to Rockhampton, Mackay or Newcastle, the report said.
According to the report, Jetstar chief executive Alan Joyce had rejected suggestions that the promotion was an attempt to take the focus away from Tiger’s first commercial flight scheduled on Friday from Melbourne to the Gold Coast.
