Several flights to and from Bali were cancelled or diverted yesterday as volcanic ash from the erupting East Java volcano, Mount Bromo, spread to the Indonesian resort island. It was reported that Australia’s Jetstar and Virgin Blue both diverted their services to Bali on Thursday, while Cathay Pacific’s Bali-bound flight was forced to return to Hong Kong. Singapore Airlines meanwhile, cancelled two of its Bali flights yesterday, while a further two services were delayed.
