Flights to Asia more than double in past 10 years

The amount of flights operating to and from Asia Pacific has more than doubled in the past 10 years, according to the latest data from OAG. The number of flights increased 109% since 2000, while seat capacity increased 88% over the same period. Asia’s growth far exceeds the global 40% expansion over the past decade. The largest regional increase however, was seen in the Middle East, which has experienced a 176% rise in capacity and a 188% surge in flights since 2000.
