Fly me to the moon: So/ Bangkok hosts art exhibition

SO/ Bangkok is kickstarting the year with a dynamic showcase ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ of French-born artist Kostar’s urban art and graffiti, including the space-trotter sculpture named Mister Balloon. On the launch day of 29 January, the Park Lobby of the property will be transformed into an art gallery with Kostar’s selected masterpieces.

The artistic partnership with Kostar reflects the hotel’s hallmark of blending art and hospitality, restyling the hotel interiors with thought-provoking art. Although the acclaimed urban artist was born in the 1970s in Paris, he has been based in and inspired by many different cities.

Creative and inventive, he experiments with a myriad of surfaces and textures to redefine urban art and graffiti. Kostar believes that the sky is barely the limit. He brought his latest sculptural figure Mister Balloon to 40-km high in outer space with a camera to witness it all. Made with fiberglass and chromium on stainless steel, it is a symbol of hope and liberty. The hotel will host an exclusive cocktail reception on the opening night to officially unveil the exhibition.
