Indian regional airline FLY91 is set to expand its operations by leasing two ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE). The new aircraft, expected to be delivered later this month from ATR’s facility in Toulouse, France, will increase FLY91's fleet to six, enabling the airline to enhance capacity and frequency on existing routes and introduce new destinations including Hubballi, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Nanded, and Dabolim.
The expansion is part of FLY91's strategy to strengthen connectivity across India's tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Manoj Chacko, CEO and Managing Director of FLY91, stated, “This transaction reinforces our commitment to building a resilient and scalable regional airline through measured growth. The ATR 72-600 is integral to our operational philosophy, offering an optimal balance of efficiency, reliability, and performance for short-haul regional routes.”
FLY91, which began commercial operations in March 2024, has been steadily building its network, connecting Goa’s Manohar International Airport with destinations such as Solapur, Jalgaon, and Agatti, as well as urban hubs like Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The ATR 72-600, known for its turboprop economics and short take-off and landing capabilities, remains central to FLY91’s fleet strategy, particularly for operations at secondary and underserved airports.
This latest move marks another collaboration between FLY91 and DAE, following the induction of the airline's first two aircraft through the same leasing partner.
