FlyBe and Air France have announced they will enter a codeshare agreement to be implemented later this year. As part of the deal, FlyBe passengers will have access to five additional routes between and UK and France, as well as seven domestic French routes and 11 international routes. FlyBe Chairman and CEO Jim French said the airline made the move as part of a strategy to target the European business city market. “The deal announced today with one of the world’s pre-eminent aviation groups allows us to extend our brand reach across Continental Europe within the framework of this strategic partnership,” he explained. “It allows us to offer an even wider range of flights to our passengers, as well as provide superb levels of inter-connectivity”. “The future co-operation with Flybe is a major opportunity for Air France to strengthen its position in the UK, Europe’s biggest market,” added Air France Chief Commercial Officer Bruno Matheu. The agreement is expected to be effective by the end of October 2010.
