One of the last things that Air India’s former chairman and managing director Arvind Jadhav did last week, the day he was shunted out by the government, was to accept the resignation of three of his confidants. The development went unnoticed as it drowned in the wake that followed the departure of the controversial chairman, Times of India said.V Srikrishnan, who retired from service on March 31, was reappointed by Jadhav as his advisor and was on contract since April. P Easwarchandran was officer on special duty to the chairman. Both were retired Air India officials who were brought back into the company by Jadhav, much to the surprise of many, as the duo had vigilance inquiries pending against them at that time. The third resignation came from Kamaljeet Rattan, Air India’s chief information officer who was recruited last year. Rattan’s appointment was also controversial as the cash-strapped airline, despite having a well-established team for handling communications, had apparently signed him for an annual package of INR45 lakh, Times of India said.
