Fraser Suites Seef Bahrain has reported occupancy levels have risen over the past few weeks, reaching a high of 48% in May.This steady increase is a welcome indicator that tourism and businesses activity is returning to the island Kingdom, as the majority of Fraser Suites’ clientele is comprised of GCC nationals and regional and international business travellers, in addition to its long-term tenants in Bahrain.According to recent figures from the Bahrain Tourism Company, current occupancy levels were ‘hovering between 20% to 30%’, up from February and March levels which plummeted to as low as 5% according to industry reports.”We are encouraged by this uptick in occupancy over the past two months,” said Olivier Briand, general manager of Fraser Suites Seef. “Our occupancy doubled in April to reach around 33% compared to February and March of this year. While this is still below previous levels, it is nonetheless above current market conditions and is a positive sign that normalcy is returning to Bahrain. We are fully confident that this upward trend will continue as the summer months approach and more events are added to the calendar.” Briand added that the recent increase in causeway traffic and Seef Mall’s “Seef Summer Surprises” campaign have helped to further spike in occupancy levels in May.
