G8 meet in Japan

The G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit has begun in northern Japan, with fuel and food prices set to top the agenda, the BBC has reported. The leaders of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the USA will be joined by counterparts from 15 other nations to discuss key global issues. The summit will run from 7-9 July.
