Gambler sues casino over US$900 million binge

An Australian gambler who lost millions in a AU$1.4 billion (US$909 million) gambling spree is suing one of the country’s largest casinos, claiming that casino managers took advantage of his gambling addiction, Reuters has reported.
Property develop Harry Kakavas is suing Crown Casino in Melbourne for AU$50 million damages after a 14-month baccarat binge in which he lost AU$37 million.
Kakavas was reportedly barred from every casino in Australia during his 2007 binge, but claims the Crown’s management didn’t “give a monkey’s” his ban, Reuters reports The Age newspaper saying.
