GetThere and TaTa Communications have teamed up to provide access to public and private Telepresence rooms for customers. The new offering is in response to the growth in demand for virtual meetings and can be used for meetings, interviews or training sessions. “GetThere customers are increasingly asking us to help them maximise both their travel spend and their investment in collaboration solutions,” said GetThere General Manager Suzanne Neufang. “Through our relationship with Tata Communications, we’re able to deliver to our corporate customers and their business travellers a broader set of relevant collaboration alternatives, enabling the selection of both travel and non-travel options depending on the reason for a trip, and allowing them to truly maximise their investments in collaboration products and services.” TaTa expects to have over 30 public Telepresence rooms by the end of this year. “Tata Communications offers private and public Telepresence rooms that enable companies to boost their productivity and conduct meetings as often as needed, while at the same time reducing their carbon footprint and travel-related costs,” said TaTa Communications Director of Managed Telepresence services Peter Quinlan. Pilot tests will start soon, with plans for a rollout later this year.
