Four global players have submitted tenders for handling ground work at 26 airports in India. The four are said to be Menzies, Swissport, SATS and Dnata, according to sources in the civil aviation ministry quoted by The Economic Times.
The Indian government, as part of its privatisation programme, is in the process of modernising over 40 airports in the country.
“These airports will be developed besides the six metro airports. At these airports, the interested companies will have to work in conjunction with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) either through a subsidiary or by forming a joint venture,” the official was quoted saying.
