Gulf Air recently inked a three-year deal with EMC to meet the airline’s IT storage requirements.
The partnership also focused on both organizations’ missions of utilizing technologies to boost business. Gulf Air director information technology, Dr Jassim Haji commented: “Gulf Air implemented Private Cloud Computing in 2010 which led to the airline realizing faster and more efficient business performance and thereby enhanced customer service. EMC is a key enabler in supporting our cloud computing efforts.”
Together with EMC, Gulf Air has successfully deployed an effective private cloud solution to transform workflows and business processes. This in turn creates a strong foundation for data growth by making best use of existing resources and infrastructure. The airline also adopts several ‘green’ solutions in its Information Technology infrastructure and practices including last year’s energy efficient Data Centre.
