Hawaii has always been a favourite holiday destination for Australians - more so in recent times due to the strength of the Aussie dollar. Now, Hawaiian Airlines has made it even easier to visit not just Hawaii but the US mainland by simplifying our air fare structure.
“Until now, our fare rules required passengers to book the same class of fare on the outbound and inbound sectors of their international journeys,” said Sherilyn Robinson, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, for Hawaiian Airlines in Australia.
Under the new fare conditions, Hawaiian now allows agents to book the best available air fare on each sector, and to combine the two to provide greater savings for passengers and greater flexibility for travel consultants.
Competitive one-way fares are also now available as a result of the changes.
“This opens a whole new range of opportunities, including the ability for travellers to fly Economy Class in one direction and Business Class in the other,” said Ms Robinson. “We believe this will be particularly appealing for honeymooners and business travellers flying between Australia, Hawaii and beyond to our 10 U.S. mainland destinations.”
As well, the new fare structure includes fuel surcharges, which previously had to be added as a “YQ surcharge”. The inclusive “Q” surcharge is commissionable and is part of the total fare.
“Travel agents have asked for this change to make it easier to sell Hawaii on Hawaiian, and we have responded to their requests,” said Ms Robinson.
The Hawaiian Airlines experience starts the moment passengers step onboard. Hawaiian ‘s fares also include meals, in flight refreshments, main screen entertainment and one of the most generous free luggage allowances of any airline - two checked pieces, each weighing up to 32 kilograms, for every passenger originating in Australia. Passengers also can increase their entertainment options by renting portage dig-E-players for just USD 15 per person.
