Hawaiian passenger traffic declines in March

Hawaiian Airlines has announced its systemwide traffic for the month of March, with traffic declining 1.7% year-on-year to 703,845 passengers. In terms of revenue passenger miles (RPM), demand declined 3.4% on the back of a 5.1% reduction in capacity. This allowed load factor to gain 1.5 points compared to March 2009, averaging at 86.1% last month. Year-to-date load factor stands at 83.6% – 1.7 points higher than the same period last year.
