Hawaiian Airlines has announced its performance results for the month of April 2011, with passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles (RPM), jumping 17.2% year-on-year. This was not quiet enough to match its 21.4% capacity expansion however, leading to a 3.0-percentage point drop in load factor, which averaged 82.4% for the month. Year-to-date, Hawaiian’s RPMs surged 20.7%, with load factors virtually flat (-0.3%) at 83.7%.
