Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) have announced plans to create pedestrian-only streets in the city’s downtown areas, according to a VietnamNet Bridge report.
Under the scheme, areas around Nguyen Hue Road and the western bank of the Saigon River will be closed to traffic from 6pm until midnight of Saturdays and Sundays. The first phase of this plan is scheduled to be implemented before 30 April, the report said.
