British travellers are said to be less likely to holiday in the UK this year due to the high cost of petrol. According to a TripAdvisor poll, 35 percent of Brits are deterred from taking a domestic holiday due to the high costs of driving, although 29 percent claimed the prices would not affect their plans. Only three percent said they would swap the car for train travel. “British drivers are clearly frustrated with the ever-rising cost of petrol,” said Emma O’Boyle, TripAdvisor spokesperson. “It makes British road trips less feasible and low-cost flights to other countries more appealing.”
