Hilton has announced the opening of The Green Leaf Niseko Village, marking the debut of its Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand in Japan. Situated at the foot of Mount Niseko Annupuri in Hokkaido, the 200-room hotel is a winter-only destination, welcoming guests during Niseko’s renowned White Season. This launch comes amid a surge in Japan’s ski tourism, with a 40% increase in visitors from November 2024 to February 2025.
The Green Leaf Niseko Village joins over 180 Tapestry Collection properties worldwide, known for their individuality and design-forward stays. The hotel blends lodge-style comfort with contemporary artistry, featuring 200 works by painter Soichiro Tomioka and modern touches by Sapporo-based artist Emi Shiratori. Champalimaud Design has crafted the interiors to reflect Niseko’s serene winter landscapes.
Key features include direct ski-in/ski-out access to Niseko Village Ski Resort and an indoor-outdoor onsen fed by a natural hot spring. The hotel’s restaurant, Goshiki, offers a mix of Japanese and Western flavours, whilst the Tomioka White lounge provides a cosy space for après-ski gatherings.
The opening of The Green Leaf Niseko Village strengthens Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio in Japan, with upcoming openings in Kyoto, Okinawa, and Tokyo. Andrew Ling, senior director of Lifestyle Brands, Asia Pacific, Hilton, stated, “The hotel embodies our vision, offering an authentic and memorable experience that feels genuinely connected to its surroundings.”
