Hilton Hotels & Resorts executives were in China last week, promoting a new programme designed to cater specifically for Chinese travellers. Hilton leaders toured Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou as part of a sustained campaign to educate Chinese consumers and tour operators about the new Hilton offering.
Representatives across China’s travel and tourism industry gathered at Hilton Shanghai last week for an introduction to Hilton Huanying, which offers a tailored experience for all travellers of Chinese origin.
Speaking at the event, Dao Shuming, Director of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, said; “The Hilton Huanying programme, based on a deep understanding of Chinese culture and lifestyle, provides the thoughtful amenities and dedicated services for Chinese tourists during their stay overseas. It’s the real tailor-made ‘welcome’ red carpet rolling out for Chinese travellers outside of China.”
The initiative enables clients to book participating hotels safe in the knowledge that the properties will meet cultural needs and expectations of Chinese guests. Fifty hotels in twelve countries currently offer the programme which is based on feedback from Chinese guests, travel agents and tour operators. Considered widely as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies and leading hospitality markets, China will achieve 83 million outbound departures with an average annual growth rate of 9% according to the statistics from China National Tourism Administration.
