Hong Kong Express Airways is launching flights from Hong Kong to Okinawa in early April.
In addition to Okinawa, Hong Kong Express Airways plans to seek approval to introduce scheduled services to a further three Japanese cities this year: Nagoya, Kagoshima and Okayama.
The flights are the result of the lifting of capacity restrictions on flights between Hong Kong and all Japanese cities with the exception of Tokyo.
“The new air services arrangement which allows all Hong Kong carriers to operate to Japan without capacity restriction is very much welcomed. I applaud such a significant step,” said Ronnie Choi, President of Hong Kong Express Airways.
“Operating scheduled services to additional destinations in Japan is not only a tremendous plus for travellers but will affirm our position and status as a truly regional player in a market which we firmly believe has strong growth potential” Choi added.
