The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has appointed Dubai-based GAA-Marta Consulting as its representative in the Middle East region. HKTB has identified the region as a strong growth market, having witnessed a 26% rise in tourist arrivals from the Middle East between 2005 and 2007, and the new partnership will work to develop this further.
“Our strategy in this region will initially focus on family and luxury leisure segments. We shall also actively work with the region’s trade partners to create tactical packages,” said Simon Mills, the HKTB’s Director of Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
