Holiday Inn close to completing global refurb
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced that the US$1 billion global Holiday Inn brand refresh programme is close to completion. Started in 2007, the project has seen more than 3,100 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels with 430,000 rooms receive a makeover, with new logos and signage, new bedding, revamped bathrooms, and more business-focused facilities including new work stations, data ports, high speed Internet access and Wi-Fi capabilities.
IHG told Travel Daily that the Holiday Inn refresh programme is now 100% complete in Thailand, 96% finished in Asia Pacific, and 94% ready globally.
“Attuned with the requirements of modern and dynamic domestic and international travellers, the Holiday Inn refresh strengthens and repositions the brand at the forefront of the highly competitive hospitality industry by focusing on the things that matter the most to guests”, said Jennifer Yuen, Brand Director for Holiday Inn in Asia & Australasia.
The Holiday Inn portfolio is expanding rapidly in Asia Pacific with 11 new hotel openings in the last 24 months and 28 more in the pipeline over the next three years.
