Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will continue to expand its range of attractions next month, with the launch of the new “Fairy Tale Forest”.
Opening on 17 December, the area recreates scenes from classic Disney fairy tales including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, as well as the more recent animated movie, Tangled.
Forming part of the park’s Fantasyland zone, Fairy Tale Forest is being billed as a “living storybook realm”, with Disney fairy Tinker Bell on hand to meet visitors.
“We’ve spent over two years building Fairy Tale Forest from its conceptual design,” said Kelly Willis, director of creative development & show quality for Walt Disney Imagineering. “It’s an intricately designed maze set in a beautiful garden setting, presenting spectacles of five cherished princesses in every corner. This attraction is bound to give guests more chances to snap photos of these classic Disney fairy tales.”
The launch of Fairy Tale Forest forms part of a major expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland’s attractions, to coincide with the park’s 10th anniversary celebrations. A new stage show, “Mickey and the Wondrous Book”, opened this month, incorporating several different Disney stories, and a new firework and light show, called “Disney in the Stars” will feature projections on the Magic Castle.
