Hotels across the UK were awarded for their environmental efforts at the Green Tourism Business Scheme’s Green Tourism Awards last week. The VisitEngland endorsed awards were handed out to hostels, B&Bs, cottages and attractions at the awards ceremony in London on Thursday. Hotel chain Ramada Jarvis was also recognised as ‘Best Performance for Carbon Reduction’. “The winners have demonstrated how it is not only possible to go green while attracting customers, but makes good business sense in any event,” said Green Tourism Week patron Tony Juniper, who was on the judging panel “By cutting emissions and waste it is possible to cut costs and increasingly attract those customers who are looking to lighten their impact on the Earth.”
