The US-based Emerging Market Group is planning to set up a multi-billion-dollar tourism project in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province. The project includes a five-star hotel and complex with around 2,000 rooms, a golf course, an international convention centre, horse-racing track, apartment building and an entertainment park. Quang Ninh is home to the UNESCO-listed Halong Bay and is already a popular tourist destination in northern Vietnam. However, the province has not yet attracted large-scale tourism projects as developers focus on central and southern provinces.
