IHG confirms 31 new hotels in India

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced a confirmed development pipeline of 31 hotels to be opened across India over the next few years. The new properties will add a total 7,600 rooms into the country’s inventory, spread across three brands - InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts.
The upcoming hotels will be located in Tier 1 & 2 cities such as New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
Tony South, Chief Development Officer, IHG Asia Pacific, said; “We have committed sizeable resources to focus on India, these include a team of over 30 hotel support professionals locally based in our Gurgaon corporate office and a dedicated Design and Engineering team to support owners and their consultants - ensuring developments are cost efficient and meeting the needs of the Indian market. Success of our managed hotels is visible, bringing tangible business benefits through effective delivery of brand and service quality standards.”
Moving forward, IHG will mostly enter into management contracts for the new properties.
IHG currently has 11 hotels in India.
