IHG revitalises RAK hotel project

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has revealed plans to revitalise the InterContinental Mina Al Arab Resort in Ras Al Khaimah project in partnership with local developer RAK Properties.
IHG said in a statement is was “the ideal time” to resume the development of its second resort in the UAE, due to strong year on year growth in the tourism sector, with visitor numbers to RAK up 10% year on year.
The 350-room luxury development is scheduled to open in 2019.
It will be located on Mina Al Arab Island, which is RAK Properties’ next major development.
Mohamed Sultan Al Qadi, managing director and CEO of RAK Properties, said the resort would offer “an array of five-star facilities and entertainment outlets”.
“We will be announcing the groundbreaking of the project shortly,” he added.
