India and UAE focus on tourism to boost trade

At the India-UAE Trade Policy Forum held in Delhi yesterday, representatives discussed ways in which they might increase bilateral trade.
During the interaction, both sides felt that the tourism sector is one such area that has good potential for future growth, especially medical tourism.
Another area with considerable scope for cooperation in tourism is construction and maintenance of hotels.
Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry informed his counterpart – Sheikha Lubna Bint Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates – that there is a good scope for UAE to invest in overall tourism sector in India which would help both the countries to enhance tourist arrivals.
