India has been hit by its second pilot protests in a month, after several Air India pilots reported sick on Saturday in protest against a decision to cut bonuses. According to a ChannelNewsAsia report, the protest by the non-unionised executive pilots, classified as airline management, follows the announcement of plans to slash productivity incentives by 25% for those pilots receiving bonuses of up to INR10,000 rupees (US$209), and 50% for those receiving productivity incentives of INR200,000 rupees or more a month.
The Air India protest comes two weeks after the Jet Airways pilot strike, which led to hundreds of flights being cancelled.
